Top 10 Mother's Day Gifts

Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 9 this year and that is just around the corner. It’s not too soon or too late to be looking for a Mother’s Day gift for that special someone. If you’ve drawn a blank on what to get someone, take a look at our suggested Mother’s Day gifts!

1.Good…an interrupted nap. Better…a full night (or several) of sleep. Either plan to take over night duty or hire a postpartum doula to come and do some overnight shifts!

2. Good…plan and make dinner AND clean up afterwards…Better…permanently take over 2-3 nights per week and handle the dinner sitch.

3. Good….bouquet of flowers. Better..take a trip to the NC Botanical Gardens. Your wife doesn’t need one more thing to take care of, including flowers.

4. Good…a backrub (no, not THAT kind of backrub, —unless she’s into it of course). Better….a gift card to a professional masseuse that includes a monthly massage option.

5. Good…tell your baby’s mom that she is a great mom! Better….show her by taking pics of her in action as a mom. Turn those pics into a photo book. Moms so rarely get to be in pics with their kids because they are usually the ones taking the picture. Looking back on photos will remind her that she is a great mom!

6. Good….give her a full day of uninterrupted time do whatever she wants. Better…book a whole weekend at her favorite location for her and her bestie.

7. Good….buy her a great book that she hasn’t read. Better….Buy her that book and then clear her schedule for a day so she can read as much as she wants!

8. Good…draw a bubble bath one night and pour her a glass of wine. Better…make this a weekly habit!

9. Good….donate to her favorite nonprofit in her name. Better…make that donation AND volunteer with the organization.

10. Good….Clean the house while you send her out for lunch and mani/pedis. Better…hire a weekly cleaning service.

There you have it! You can’t go wrong with any of these options for your favorite mom-to-be, mom, or person who fills the role of “mom” for other folks. Happy Mother’s Day!
