Top 5 Triangle Area Splash Pads

It’s here. Summer. The days are longer, everywhere is green, the lightning bugs are out - there’s so much to love about summer in North Carolina. But - and it’s a big but - it is H O T here! When you’ve got little ones at home with you during these long summer months, a visit to the splash pad can be just the thing to beat the heat and add a little excitement to the day. So today on the blog we’re sharing our favorite area splash pads. Check them out!

Jack Smith Park

Located in Cary, Jack Smith Park has a sprayground that is super fun for kids 12 and younger. There is no fee and the sprayground is free to use by anyone as long as it is open. It’s located next to a great playground and has adjacent picnic shelters, so bring a change of clothes and make a whole day out of your visit.

Buffalo Road Aquatic Center

The Buffalo Road Aquatic Center is one of the city of Raleigh’s public pools. There is a fee to enter, but this place is fun for the whole family (adults included). There is a pool and a lazy river, in addition to the toddler splash zone, which includes water buckets, water curtain, and a small-sized slide.

John Chavis Memorial Park

During the hotter months, the John Chavis Memorial Park in Raleigh has a water feature that is great for the small crowd. There is no fee to use the water feature here, but if you want to bring some dry clothes to change into, there’s a great playground as well as a historic Wurlitzer carousel (which does cost money to ride).

Splash Pad

Located in Fuquay Varina, the Splash Pad is one of the newer spraygrounds in the area. It is free for residents of the town and $2 for non-residents (children under 2 are free). This splash pad is designed with zones for different age groups, so everyone can enjoy.

Taylor Street Park Sprayground

:Located in Wake Forest, the Taylor Street Park Sprayground is another newer water feature to the area. With lots of different activities - water buckets, jet streams, and more - this sprayground is also zero-depth so is good for even the littlest ones.

So as the weather starts heating up in North Carolina, hopefully you can stay cool at one of the many splash pads located throughout the Triangle!
