Handmade burgers, creamy milkshakes, and a case filled with over 250 varieties of classic and artisan glass-bottled sodas, make this little hole-in-the-wall burger joint a hit with the kids. 

2. The Cowfish

If you're on the hunt for something a little fancy but still kid-approved, then check out Raleigh's The Cowfish. Sushi and burgers? What's not to love! The grown-ups can get some really good sushi and the little ones can have fun with a PB&J Roll. They also really do it up for birthdays.

3. Totopo's

Looking for something unique to go along with your chips and salsa? Head on over to Totopo's in Cary. Their menu is focused on authentic Mexico City "street food" and it doesn't disappoint. Parents will enjoy the margaritas and kids will love the fun Mexican Luchador theme throughout the restaurant. 

4. The Remedy Diner 

Located in Raleigh, The Remedy Diner is the perfect spot for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters. An independently owned restaurant, it uses local, fresh ingredients and whips up new from-scratch items for the menu daily. The desserts here are killer.

5. Bull City Burger and Brewery

If you find yourself searching for a place to eat in Durham, check out Bull City Burger and Brewery. Their year-round outdoor patio is great for families and they even have a small area just for kids to play. Bull City Burger also uses North Carolina pasture-raised beef in all of their patties, so get ready for one of the best hamburgers you've ever had!

6. Anna's Pizzeria

When the kids want pizza but you're sick of the same old delivery options, check out Anna's Pizzeria in historic downtown Apex. This is the type of place where you can expect to see entire little league teams enjoying a slice after a game or large groups of friends and family out for a night. The pizza is great too!

7. Salem Street Pub

Located in downtown Apex, Salem Street Pub is another no-frills, laid back choice the entire family will love. This is classic kid fare - hot dogs, grilled cheese, chicken fingers - that you can't go wrong with. The pub also has an impressive selection of local craft beers on tap that will make Mom and Dad happy. 

8. Neomonde 

If you're ready to branch out from the standard hamburgers and chicken fingers places, then check out Neomonde. With locations in Morrisville and Raleigh, Neomonde serves up fresh, delicious Mediterranean dishes but their cheese pitas are definitely kid-friendly. Bonus: Kids eat free on Tuesday nights with the purchase of a regular entree. 

9. Kanki Japanese House of Steaks & Sushi

With several locations in Raleigh, Kanki is a great choice for a special occasion or just a fun night out. Kids love sitting around the teppanyaki grill and watching the chef put on a dazzling display of cooking skills. Kanki is great for large groups.

Maybe you're looking for a great breakfast spot instead of dinner? If so, check out First Watch, with locations in Raleigh and Cary. What kid doesn't go crazy over chocolate chip pancakes? There are also plenty of yummy breakfast and brunch choices to make the parents happy too.
